2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF

Mazda offers the MX-5 Miata RF in two trim levels. The base is the Club. It comes with LED headlights and taillights, black exterior trim elements, and keyless entry. It also has a sport-tuned suspension and black power side mirrors. The Grand Touring changes the exterior look with dark silver 17-inch wheels and body-colored exterior trim. It also has heated exterior side mirrors with an auto-dimming feature on the driver's side and automatic headlights. Mazda offers appearance packages to help make your MX-5 Miata RF stand out. You can get a gloss-black front air dam, rear spoiler, and rear bumper trim for either model, or you can add the Brembo BBS Recaro Package to the Club. This package comes with Brembo front brakes with red brake calipers, 17-inch gray BBS forged alloy wheels, heated black Recaro sport seats, and an aerodynamic body kit.

Both models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The Grand Touring trim offers the option of a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The four-cylinder engine has plenty of power to propel the light Miata around town and on the highway with confidence. The Skyactiv-G engine revs smoothly up to its redline, and it takes only about six seconds to accelerate up to 60 mph, even with the heavier RF hardtop. The manual transmission is a blast to drive, but if you prefer an automatic, the six-speed is smooth and provides gear changes at just the right time. The Miata eagerly tackles turns with its responsive steering system, and the strong brakes will stop the car quickly when you need them to.

There's room for two people in the MX-5 Miata RF. The cabin is upscale and has a cockpit-like feel. The Club comes with cloth upholstery, heated seats, and air conditioning. The Grand Touring adds leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and automatic climate control. Heated Recaro sport seats are available with the Brembo BBS Recaro package. Technology in this Mazda sports car includes a 7-inch touch screen, two USB ports, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, satellite radio, and a nine-speaker Bose stereo system. It also comes standard with HD radio and Bluetooth.

Both the Club and the Grand Touring Miata RF trims have several advanced driver aids. These include forward collision warning with automatic braking, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. The Grand Touring adds adaptive headlights that swivel to keep the road ahead well-lit when taking corners.
