The base powertrain for the CX-5 is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 187 horsepower. The Turbo and Turbo Signature models get a 2.5-liter that puts out 227 horsepower with regular gas and 256 horsepower with high-octane fuel. All models use a six-speed automatic transmission and come standard with all-wheel drive.

The CX-5 is for drivers who love to drive. Either engine has plenty of power, and the vehicle has a responsive steering system, strong brakes, and a suspension that keeps it firmly connected to the road. Add to the driving experience with the S Premium, which has sport and off-road driving modes.

Inside, the CX-5 has room for five, with high-quality materials and a modern design. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. Dual-zone automatic climate control comes in the S Select, which also has a power-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats. Driver's seat memory settings are standard in the higher trims, and you can also get leather upholstery and a power-adjustable front passenger seat. Moving up to higher trim levels adds features such as rear USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, and a 10-speaker Bose stereo.
