Up first is an all-new Mazda crossover called the 2020 Mazda CX-30. This particular model slots into the lineup between the Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-5. The Mazda CX-30 features a design you’re familiar with, but the designers have given it a more severely forward-canted rear window and more black-plastic body. This model shares a lot in common with the all-new Mazda3, indicating that it will likely have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder SKYACTIV®-G engine that makes 186 horsepower.
Next up is the 2020 Mazda3, which promises to combine stellar handling with innovative fuel-efficient technology. The big news for the 2020 Mazda3 is its use of the new SKYACTIV®-X engine. The engine is a “supercharged four-cylinder that burns an ultralean charge during compression ignition (the air-to-fuel ratio is more than double that of a conventional gas engine),” according to Car and Driver. The upgraded SKYACTIV®-X compression-ignition engine is expected to produce 190 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque.
