Champion Mazda Owensboro, KY

Jan 22, 2019

When you visit our location, you’ll see that we have pre-owned Mazda vehicles lined up right next to automobiles produced by other manufacturers in our previously owned car inventory. You’ll also see that we have the latest Mazda models in our new car inventory, such as the 2019 Mazda CX-9 and the 2018 Mazda CX-5.

Whether you’re interested in a new or pre-owned vehicle, you might want to buy gap insurance. If an incident totals your automobile, gap insurance will cover the difference between what you still owe your lender and the amount you receive from your standard insurance policy.

Your standard insurance policy will only pay you for the value of your automobile, not necessarily what you paid for it or the amount you still owe your lender. When there’s a difference between the balance on your auto loan and the current value of your car, that’s when gap insurance kicks in.

As an Owensboro, KY Mazda dealer, we can tell you that gap insurance will cover more than accidents that end up totaling your vehicle. Gap insurance will also kick in if your automobile is stolen and remains missing.

Gap insurance will not cover any of the costs related to property damage, bodily injuries, or death if an accident occurs. If your car has mechanical problems, such as failed brakes or engine troubles, your gap insurance policy will not cover any of the resultant costs. Even if your car is stolen or destroyed, your gap insurance will not pay any portion of your standard auto policy’s deductible.

If you’re trying to decide if gap insurance is right for you, we can help. Head over to Champion Mazda to talk to the experts in our Mazda financing department now.
